Vision
In the Gospel of John, Jesus prayed, that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me.” We are seeing the fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer right here in San Diego.
In May, 2003, some 700 local churches united to host Mission San Diego with Billy Graham. It became one of the best-attended events of any kind ever experienced by this city. Over 20,000 Christian volunteers were trained for this single four-day outreach.
In late October 2003, when fires ravaged San Diego and over 2,000 homes were reduced to ashes, we saw this unity again. Churches from throughout the county joined together to offer united support.
Since those two events, many San Diego County churches are coming together frequently to pray and worship as one. Two such proceedings were the May, 2004 for the National Day of Prayer and Memorial Day weekend’s “Spirit West Coast,” a Christian music festival held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Christian leaders are proclaiming that this degree of “Christian unity” is unparalleled.
We have built this Christian Watercooler.com plan to support and unify local Churches. We did not create it to deplete a church’s resources, rather to augment the growth and ministry potential of San Diego ministries. Particular care is being taken to this end. Our purpose is not to promote a single Christian denomination or doctrine, rather, to allow God’s Spirit of unity to accentuate the common bond of Christ to the benefit of all. With this in mind, we heartily encourage your church’s involvement in this endeavor.
ChristianWaterCooler.com represents many individuals joined together.
